bio art:
Light & organism
about
PLNT3 is an art installation centered around the creation of a device designed to regulate the luminosity received by a botanical specimen belonging to the genus Zamioculcas. Within this artwork, UV radiation plays a transformative role, altering both the morphology and physiology of the plant. Through meticulous laboratory assistance, observable changes have occurred in the coloration of the leaves, which, under the influence of the device, now exhibit dark and metallic tones. The PLNT3 installation evokes an artificial realm, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in this unique environment and challenging conventional perceptions of organic lifeforms.

Bio art is a fusion of art and science that explores the artistic potential of living organisms, biological processes, and biotechnologies, challenging our perceptions of life and the boundaries between the natural and the artificial. In this realm of creative exploration, projects like PLNT3 emerge as an experiment that harnesses the power of biology to push the boundaries of artistic expression.
