Plurality &
movement of the body
about
This artistic work is an academic and poetic research developed for my master's in contemporary art. I established relationships regarding transient and multiple expressions to investigate the visuality of the body in contemporary times. The piece addresses a practical and theoretical investigation through poetics that traverses between the languages of photography and video. The research is linked to the concepts of becoming-body and multiplicity, which are explored in the performances of two actors on the stage of a theater.
The concept of "becoming" developed by Gilles Deleuze is fundamental in his philosophy, especially in his approach to ontology and multiplicity. Deleuze understands becoming as a process of constant and irreversible transformation, in which beings and things are always in flux, in continuous mutation, and becoming something different from what they were before.
For Deleuze, becoming implies a nonlinear understanding of time and being. He rejects the idea of a fixed and stable identity in favor of a fluid and dynamic view of reality. Becoming involves a series of "encounters" and "events" that produce new forms, new connections, and new possibilities.
In this field of action, I sought to organize a space for reflection in the construction of different images of the body, where the stimuli for these changes would be provided through performance, music, attire, and ultimately, the photographic device.
